Send correspondence on Windows using the printer integration

Note - If you have not done so yet, you need to install the Mediref printer application on your computer in order to use it. Click here for step by step instructions on how to do so.

Our end goal:

Steps:

  1. Get your document ready to print. This can be a Word document, a PDF, one created by your patient management system, it does not matter. The only thing that matters is that the program in question has a 'Print' button.
  2. When ready to send, go ahead and click on that "Print" button. 
  3. From the available printer options, select the one called 'MedirefPrinter'. 
  4. This will automatically convert your document into a PDF, launch Mediref, and pull the document in, ready to send
  5. (Optional) You can add as many documents in this way as you like. You can also compliment the documents you have added by dragging and dropping files onto the page or selecting files from the computer directly.
  6. (Optional) Preview/rename the documents as you wish
  7. Add your recipients (who are these documents for?)
  8. Specify the patient name
  9. (Optional) If you wish the patient to get a copy of this correspondence, add their email address
  10. Click on 'Send'

The total process above takes less than a minute once you have sent a handful of documents to get used to the process.
