Mediref COVID-19 Payment Freeze for NSW, VIC

When the latest lockdown in NSW was announced, we, like most others, did not expect it to last so long. As things have turned out, NSW is set to be in lockdown for about 3 months and that is the best case scenario IF things go to plan (the latest plan, anyway). Victoria has also gone into what seems like at least a one month lockdown.

As per our response and reasoning when Covid hit last year, we are once again going to try and do our part in helping practices in what little way we can and freeze payments/apply a credit to practices in these two states. If other states end up in similar extended lockdowns (knock on wood), we will extend the same to them as well. Full details below.

NSW

  • A 3 month credit will be applied to all accounts (both monthly and annual).
  • If the lockdown is extended further, we will increase this credit accordingly.

Victoria

  • A 1 month credit will be applied to all accounts (both monthly and annual). Update - This has been increased to 2 months
  • If the lockdown is extended further, we will increase this credit accordingly.

Other States

  • We will monitor the situation and react as lockdowns evolve.

FAQs

  1. How will this impact free plans and practices who wish to upgrade?
Any attempted plan upgrades at this time would be greatly appreciated and a big vote of confidence! That said, even if an upgrade is made, your card will not be charged and payments will be deferred to when we reinitiate charging for Mediref.

Those on a free, receiving-only plan will also have their send-limit lifted and get full access to all of Mediref's functionality.
  2. When is the exact date that this will happen?
We are already working on implementing this and it should be in place by the 1st of September, at the latest.

UPDATE (29th August 2021) - These credits have been applied
  3. What if I get charged right before you implement the freeze?
All practices will receive the same benefit. Those charged right before the payment freeze will have their benefit automatically applied to their next scheduled payment instead.
